STCW Training Instructor
FMTC Safety in Gray, LA is seeking a knowledgeable, safety‑focused STCW Instructor to join our maritime training team. Our Gray location supports mariners, offshore personnel, and emergency‑response professionals across the Gulf Coast, delivering internationally recognized training that prepares students for real‑world conditions. We’re looking for an instructor who brings strong operational experience, clear communication, and a passion for developing competent, confident seafarers.
As an STCW Instructor, you will deliver courses such as Personal Survival Techniques (PST), Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities (PSSR), Elementary First Aid (EFA), and Fire Prevention & Firefighting (FPFF). You’ll guide trainees through both classroom instruction and hands‑on practical evolutions using our survival pool, firefighting grounds, rescue equipment, and dedicated training facilities. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Job requirements
Deliver high‑quality STCW training in accordance with STCW standards and FMTC procedures
Facilitate both classroom and practical instruction with a focus on safety, clarity, and student engagement
Maintain training equipment, PPE, and training areas to ensure readiness and compliance
Support audits, quality assurance processes, and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with the Gray, LA training team to ensure smooth course delivery and a positive learning environment
