IJmuiden - Instructor Banksman

For our training center in IJmuiden, we are looking for a driven and passionate Banksman Instructor (OPITO & NOGEPA) (m/f/d) who wants to enable people to work safely and optimally prepare them for lifting and crane operations in offshore and industrial environments.

Your role as a Banksman Instructor

As a Banksman Instructor (OPITO & NOGEPA) in IJmuiden, you are at the heart of our training center. You don’t just deliver courses, you create impactful learning experiences that truly prepare people for real-life lifting and crane operations.

What will you do?

No two days are the same, and that’s exactly what excites you. You take full ownership of your trainings and:

• Deliver OPITO Banksman & Slinger Initial Training (Stage 1, 3, or equivalent work experience)

• Teach theoretical and practical aspects of lifting operations, crane signaling, and load assessment

• Cover legislation, safety, risk assessment, hand signals, and radio communication

• Guide participants through hands-on exercises, including supervising lifting operations (even out of the crane operator’s line of sight)

• Ensure all trainings comply with OPITO and FMTC standards

• Maintain training materials and practice setups

• Report activities to the location coordinator

What do you bring?

• Experience in lifting operations, crane supervision, or a similar role in the (offshore) industry

• OPITO Banksman & Slinger certification (or willingness to obtain it)

• Affinity for teaching or willingness to be trained as an instructor

• Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate groups

• Fluent in English

• A proactive, safety-focused and professional attitude

• Passion for training and working with people

• Customer-oriented mindset and energy for delivering appreciated training
